There’s a lot involved in grassroots organizing for LGBTQ groups in the South, so the Southern Equality Fund doesn’t just provide funding for projects – we also connect leaders with training and support.
Upcoming Training Opportunities
It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.
The SEF will regularly sponsor free, online skill-building trainings and webinars for grassroots groups. All trainings will be recorded and available on our website for anyone to watch at any time.
We are currently in the planning process for our first line-up of trainings! Is there a skill that you or your group needs to strengthen their work? Let us know what topics you’d like to see covered in the next training!
Sometimes you need a longer, deeper training than you can get online. We don’t have the staff or the funding to travel for just one group--but if several groups in your area want to come together for a training or workshop on a particular topic, and you’re willing to organize it, let us know. We’ll see what we can do to connect you with the right skilled trainer or workshop facilitator.
Have a question, a problem, or a sticky situation? You’re not alone. Contact the SEF and let us know. We’ll try to find either a CSE staff member or someone else in the CSE network who can help. Need more than just one-time support? We will do our best to connect you with a mentor who can listen, help you think things through, and offer encouragement and advice.
Local and Regional Gatherings
We all know that working for LGBTQ equality in the South can be isolating and difficult. We have also seen the power and encouragement that happens when people and groups come together. CSE works in partnership with grantees to support local, regional or statewide gatherings of LGBTQ grassroots groups, whether it’s for training, organizing, networking, or whatever other purpose.
